I started this food journey in January 2015, with a Whole30 Challenge, 4 months after my first daughter was born. The first few weeks were rough, to say the least, but by the end of those 30 days both my husband and I agree, we felt the best we’ve ever felt. We pretty much ignored the ‘reintroduction’ (husbands response “what’s reintroduction?”) phase and maintained an ’80/20′ Paleo diet for a while.
Then, you know, life happened. I got a job transfer and we moved back to my home town. My transfer, as expected, got delayed and I ended up commuting for two months 1.5 hours each way. This was an ideal time for Podcasts so I found Balance Bites with Diane Sanfilippo and Liz Wolfe and The Paleo Women Podcast, both of which, started the wheels turning on why this ‘stuff’ really matters.
As I continued to explore this real food lifestyle, I began to see in my practice as a pediatric physical therapist that seemingly ‘healthy kids’ kept getting the same recurrent injuries. I also have seen in my own life that that post baby fatigue shouldn’t last forever. So I researched and decided to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
Using their 6 foundations, I have been seen an increase in energy and a decrease in pain, emotional lability and overall improved mental health. Now that I am an NTP, I am driven to help other’s achieve the same goals I have. Optimizing health, wellness, and overall just feeling your best. I have created my own foundations that intertwine my background as a physical therapist, nutritional therapy practitioner, mom, employee, and adult in this overworked and over tired society.
